Privacy policy

Study Streak helps you keep a study streak for each of your subjects. To do that, it stores your account and the study time you log. This page explains exactly what that covers.

The short version

  • We store your account and the study data you enter, so the app works on any phone you sign in on.
  • No ads, no advertising ID, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell your data.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time, and your study data goes with it.

Who we are

Study Streak is made by Tarengan, based in Pakistan ("we", "us"). We're responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at studystreakdev@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your account

  • Email address, used to sign in and to send account emails.
  • Password, which we store only as a salted hash. We can't read it.
  • If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your email address and name. We don't receive your Google password or anything else from your Google account.

Your profile

  • Your name, your level of study (such as high school or university), the avatar you pick from the app's built-in set, and your reminder and theme settings.

Your study data

  • Subjects: name, colour, daily target, study days and reminder time.
  • Study sessions: the date, how many minutes, an optional topic, and whether you used the timer or logged it by hand.
  • Exams: title, date and how many prep sessions you planned.

Your subscription

  • Whether you have Study Streak Pro and when it ends. Google Play takes the payment, so we never see your card or payment details.

Technical logs

  • Like any web service, our servers log requests, including IP addresses and times, to keep the service secure and fix problems.

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and we don't use an advertising ID. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software.

What stays on your phone

  • Your sign-in token, kept in your phone's secure storage.
  • Study sessions you log without a connection, until they sync.
  • Your reminders. The app schedules them on your phone; our servers don't send push notifications.

How we use it

  • To run Study Streak: syncing your subjects and sessions, and working out your streaks, targets and statistics.
  • To send account emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
  • To give you Pro features while your subscription is active.
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We don't sell or rent your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers Study Streak needs to work, and only what each of them needs:

  • Google, if you choose Sign in with Google, and Google Play, which handles purchases.
  • RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions. It receives your Study Streak account number, your purchase records from Google Play, and basic device details its software needs, such as the platform and app version. It doesn't receive your email address or study data.
  • Our email delivery provider, which sends account emails to your address.
  • Our hosting provider, which runs our servers and database.

We'll also disclose information if the law requires it. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by these providers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and study data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we remove it and all your study data from our database straight away. Here's how to delete your account.

Deleting a subject in the app also deletes its sessions and exams. Server logs are kept only as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting. Google Play and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records under their own policies.

Your choices

  • See and change your profile in the app at any time.
  • Export all your study sessions as a CSV file from Profile, then Export data.
  • Delete your account from Profile, then Delete account.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else about your privacy at studystreakdev@gmail.com.

Security

Data travels between the app and our servers over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and your sign-in token lives in your phone's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will act quickly if something goes wrong.

Children

Study Streak is for students aged 13 and over. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
